This will be held at both Charlottesville and Warrenton locations. If you are interested in a packet of information for this program, please email me. To find out more information or complete an application online, please visit the website at: http://curry.virginia.edu/community-programs/student-enrichment/sep/saturday Today 2nd through 5th grade Gifted students, students in the 4/5 and 5/6 compacted math classes, and/or teacher selected students received a letter from me regarding the Noetic Math Competition that will be held at Rural Point on November 14th. This competition is optional for students to participate in, but we encourage all students to participate. Please return the back of the letter to let us know if you are willing to place your child's name on the website for submitting their scores. If you choose not to have your child's name listed on the website, they can still participate in the contest. Thank you for your ongoing support!
Last Wednesday I sent home information from John Hopkins University regarding above level testing to all identified Gifted students. This is provided as a service to you and is not mandatory. Please visit the website for more information. On Wednesday I sent home a letter to all identified GT students in fifth grade detailing an opportunity through the Math and Science Innovation Center for a Saturday Math Masters Class. If you are interested in having your child be considered, please return the application form to me by Thursday, September 26th.
If you are interested in starting the new year out with some new books on your child's reading level, check out Scholastic.com. Under the class code H29TR, you can find book choices ranging from 1st grade to 7th grade readers.
